A treasure hunter’s dreams and Imelda Marcos’ delusions mix in this meditative journey through the Philippines. An observational essay on history, transformation, and searching, the film explores the concept of a memory palace while obliquely chasing an illusory treasure called Yamashita’s Gold. Caught in a cycle of searching, the viewer confronts the landscape of paradise lost.
